FSJ has weighed in on Scoble’s anti-Apple diatribe. And it seems as if the “take a pill” crowd seems to be growing. Although FSJ is all in good fun, he still brings up some good points, while managing to make us laugh at the same time.

And, because Robert can’t ever write anything without letting you know HOW VERY FUCKING IMPORTANT HE IS, we get the following: “What’s ironic is lots of other computer companies would LOVE to give me free stuff (I don’t take it) but Apple is the only company that’s never raised a PR finger to help me.”

Yeah, that was slightly stupid. Why should Apple send Scoble anything for free? Scoble mentions people, but he also fails to equivocate those statements with who those people actually are. Levy? Mossberg? They’re analysts, and on top of that they’ve never worked for Microsoft! What real benefit would Apple get from Scoble getting free stuff? The public at large is never going to hear what Scoble has to say.

(Update: In all fairness to Scoble, as he did say in the comment below he is seen by the public at large.. however I’ll still stick to what I’m saying, who are more people going to trust, or even know?)

Tim Probst adds his two cents in, which I agree wholeheartedly with.

I’m really surprised he gave up so quickly and ran to his blog to light up Apple like a Christmas tree. His post really sounded like a computer novice wrote it, and I expect more from someone who has a background like Scoble. He could have at least pulled out his Mac OS X disk to see if it would work.

Probst also touches on the fact that this is only the beginning: with so many switchers as of late, these kind of reactions are to become even more frequent. On top of that, when you have people who’ve been part of or very close to Microsoft for so long as somebody like Scoble, virile rants like this are going to be even more frequent. The Microsofties are hungry to play “gotcha” with Apple for once.

I see it in my inbox almost daily. I do not reveal sources (no journalist does) but several of my contacts in my discussion list are very close to Microsoft. They’ve been hungering for a screwup, because Apple’s recent ad campaigns have had a real effect on public opinion.

To his own defense, Scoble has come out saying we’re misunderstanding him, but then devolves back into basically equivocating Apple users with “idiots,” whose lives revolve around Steve’s next move.

Yes, there are some like that. But come on, Microsoft folks are TEN TIMES AS BAD. The brainwashing is almost disgusting. Hell, my one friend’s vacation message says the following:

Hello! Thanks for your email! I’m currently away on business in [insert place] through [insert day]. I’ll respond as soon as I can thanks to Windows Live for Windows Mobile! (ed: i’m not adding that link either, its really there)

I love him to death, but talking to him is painful. it’s never a phone, it’s his Windows Mobile Smartphone, he’s taken up calling podcasts zunecasts now, you’re not getting added to his contact list, it’s his Windows Live Contacts list, etc.

Yeah, we Apple users may be “smug” as you put it, but hell we don’t feel the need to espouse in our daily lives and lexicon every time with some ad for Microsoft and how its changed our lives.

That’s the brand promise of Apple. We know it works, we don’t need to tell people it works. We (as in the majority, not the vocal minority Scoble is pointing out) don’t run to our blogs at the first sign of a Microsoft problem to tell everybody how bad of a company it is

I hate to break it to you, a large portion of computer problems are due to human error… now just take the damn thing to a Genius Bar and get it fixed.
