Digg just got some much needed credibility with the addition of the WSJ. One of the nation’s most respected journalistic outlets has now added “Digg it” links to its articles. Once a story is dugg by a subscriber, it will open up a door to Digg readers to view the entire article at no cost.

This is probably the first move toward’s Rupert Murdoch’s eventual plan to open up the Journal. I’m trying to figure out who benefits more here — I would venture to say at this juncture its Digg. The WSJ already has a solid readership base.

On the other hand, Digg has some credibility issues from time to time, and putting some more reputable news sources on it’s pages would benefit the site more at this point, don’t you think?
